Star Wars: Darth Vader #5 confirms the true reason why Anakin hated Obi-Wan
During their Star Wars rivalry, there were many contentious moments between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker that led to the fracture of their relationship. It mostly stemmed from Anakin feeling disrespected and being angry the Jedi Council wouldn’t promote or trust him as much as he felt he deserved. This condescension is something he voiced to Padme Amidala quite often but she’d console him, with their love acting as a salve to his feelings.
However. Anakin turned his rage on her in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, choking her out on Mustafar before going after Obi-Wan, thinking that everyone around him would betray him out of jealousy for his powers. But as Star Wars: Darth Vader #5 shows, it’s not professional jealousy that drove Anakin over the edge, it’s a personal one as Anakin seems to have thought Padme and Obi-Wan might have had an affair.
